FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The Cycling & Sailing program is organized so that you can fully enjoy these two activities. Bicycles are not transported from location to location by sailboat, but have their own special route and are transported by a specially equipped vehicle. Any cycling route within the area where cycling and sailing takes place should be announced at least 24 hours in advance. At the agreed time the bikes will be ready for you at the start of the route. In addition, on each cycling route, the group is accompanied by a “support vehicle” and a person who makes sure that all logistics on the cycling route are flawless. After the completion of the cycling route, the person in charge of the cycling part picks up the bicycles to the next cycling route and the guests board the sailboat.
The bicycle routes could best be classified as “gravel”. It is a combination of paved roads with low traffic intensity and macadam roads, technically undemanding. The length and altitude is adjusted by the battery life on the electric bike, ie up to 50 km and up to 800 meters of ascent, which is about 3 hours of riding. If necessary, each planned route can be shortened or extended.
Every day of the Cycling and Sailing program is exactly what the group wants. Cycling can be in the morning or afternoon and the second part of the day is reserved for sailing, swimming and enjoying. As a rule, cycling lasts half a day and the other half is intended for activities on the sailboat.
Sailing routes are a matter of guests’ choice, but technically they connect the starting points of cycling routes. The pace and speed depends on the wishes of the group and the weather conditions. Depending on the wishes, the routes can be shorter (an hour or two) or longer, with a stop in beautiful bays for swimming, lunch in a restaurant and an overnight stay in the bay at anchor, in the marina, or in a small harbor. Our skippers will fulfill your every wish.
Cycling & Sailing is organized in the central Adriatic, probably the most attractive area on the Croatian coast for both activities. It takes place in the area between Zadar and Split and includes cities on the coast like Zadar, Šibenik, Primošten, Trogir, Split, national parks Krka and Kornati and the islands of Ugljan, Pašman, Dugi otok, Murter, Šolta, Brač and Hvar.
The nearest international airports are in Split and Zadar.
Parking for your car in the marina Rogoznica is available on surcharge, according to currently valid marina Rogoznica price lists.
Of course. The only exceptions are electric bikes where we work exclusively with our bikes.
While the group is on bicycles, the boat is moored. Non-cyclists can go with us in the vehicle to accompany the group, they can stay on board or get to know the place and surroundings where the boat is moored.
Absolutely. Your skipper will be informed about the time and place for cycling and some basic rules about logistics and coordination by our employee who is in charge of the cycling routes. The process is very simple and can be arranged before arriving at the destination or on the first day of Cycling & Sailing.
It’s doable. MTB and TREKKING use the same routes that are in the original program, while for ROAD routes we make “custom” routes depending on the wishes and capabilities of the group.
Yes. Send an inquiry for our logistics and program proposal.
Bicycles should be brought to the port of departure on the first day. We will pick them up up and take care of them as if they were ours throughout your stay at Cycling and Sailing.
Availability is directly connected to the boat availability for 4 days. Boat owners are generally not the happiest with this option but in the pre- and post-season there is a chance. Last minute booking is also possible for a shorter period. Make sure that the shorter period is in the period Saturday – Friday (any 3 or four days within that period), since weekend charters are the most problematic for finding a boat.
